What’s the name of your 108 mala beads?

All the 108 mala beads and mala bracelets I make has a name and I start thinking of the possible names before I start making it.

Yes, I think about the gemstone properties, think about how gemstones work together, visualize the final look of the mala necklace with the style of the mala & the size of the beads and pick some names before I start making 108 mala beads.

For example, the preparation for this Adjustable 108 Mala beads called Seven Chakra Shield.

Before I started making it, I was think to create something to ground the good seven chakra energy with the users, so I picked black tourmaline for grounding and seven chakra stone for balancing energy in chakras.

Then, I decided if I should use 108+1, 108+2 or 108+3 style. With my imagination, 108+3 style seemed better as there’s a pause at the end of each quarter (27 beads) with green aventurine/ green Myanmar jadeite - it looks lighter compared to continuous black and the 3 marker beads help the users to count during meditation.

Next, I picked the size of the beads. This is a easy step as all I need is to see if I prefer to add a bigger or a smaller green aventurine at then end of each quarter.

Finally, I gave it some names and felt how the name worked with the mala beads during the making process. I was thinking seven chakra protection, seven chakra still... 🤯 but none of them felt right.

After I completed the mala beads, I thought about energy shield 🛡️. I was wondering why I was thinking about shield now. I created my energy shield around me already and maybe the shield was creaking? Then I realized it’s the name of of it!
